2:1 - Tausch

This is an intelligent thriller centering around one of those people who are hardly ever seen yet know more international secrets than most government ministers: Silvia Broome (Nicole Kidman) is an interpreter, employed by some international organisation, who understands some obscure African languages and dialects. And she happens to overhear a plan for an assassination in one such language. When she alerts the authorities, she is drawn into the murky world if espionage where nobody trusts anybody and the line between friend and foe is a very fine one and finds that she has become as much a suspect as a loyal servant to her country. Keller, the FBI man tasked to keep an eye on her is played by a well cast Sean Penn. Both the viewer and Silvia herself are left guessing if Keller is trying to keep her safe from harm or if he is trying to protect a possible victim from her activities as a terrorist agent.
